The rooftop pool's views are really good. Consider booking in advance for a better room selection.

the staff was helpful and very friendly. the location was great, the room was nice and has sea view. Breakfast was basic but good. Pool was great. Love the old charachter of the hotel.

Aye, the view from my room was amazing, especially at sunset, and the staff made sure I was chillin' with every need. That picnic box they got was a lifesaver for my hikes-dope sandwiches and juice for the win! Only thing is, breakfast left a bit to be desired. Still, the vibe was real nice.

The furniture could do with updating

Very friendly and helpful staff. Around the clock open reception. Perfect location in the city centre (a bit uphill though).

The room seemed a bit old. There was not wi fi in all rooms.

The beautiful views over Funchal from the balcony of my Double Room with Sea View were amazing, especially at sunset.

The breakfast offered was disappointingly basic, lacking variety and flavor, surprising given Madeira's rich culinary reputation.

The best Ilike the tasty breakfast. We took it on the terrace with a gteat view to Funchal and the see.

The hotel had a fantastic rooftop pool with fine views, perfect for cooling off. We really appreciated the cozy vibe and helpful staff, especially Adriana.

In my wife's opinion, they could improve the dining options for families with kids.

The staff are pleasant and the room is immaculately clean with great views. The services are nice, including a good pool. Btw, it has free parking. Living in the centre of the town gives a special feeling. The hotel is in calm area, just next door to the old town and great museums.

Ninteenth Century hotel inthe middle of Funchal Old Town-ideal for family. Excellnet views over the town, and superb for the Funchal New Year fireworks- an almosr complete 360 degree elevated view. Relaxed and old-fashioned atmosphere.

Bathroom rather antiquated, with drains smell.

The staff of the Monte Carlo were so accomodating. They upgraded our family to an amazing room at the top of the hotel which made watching the New Year's fireworks display all the better. Not to mention an amazing view of all of Funchal.

I hope one day they will be able to expand their breakfast area to offer snacks such as sandwiches, chips and the like. Would be nice for people that just want a quick bite when feeling a little hungry.
